ok, they are all unique, elves, men, ents, dwarves, wizards, minions etc, but who are your favourite and why?
Personally, I watched FOTR on TV last night, and seeing PJ's intepretation of Moria, unbelievable, the dwarves were something. Though men have to be my fave race, their emotions, their strength and weakness, their realness.

lol, I know that feeling Lau, they all have something great about them, the fact that they are so different and unique makes it hard!

Hmmm, this is a hard one, I love each and every kingdom, but I have to agree with you Cae, the men are something we can all relate to and you see a whole variety from traitors to heros. I think it's fantastic!

I watched FotR on TV the other night too, but I got so annoyed with all the ads that stretched it way too long. Anyway I would have to say my favourite race are the hobbits. Simple and friendly folk with very few cares in the world. They live in the most beautiful land and are very rarely effected by war. Even if they are they are no strangers to it. They are all friendly and would have a chat with most people and have some of the best pubs in all the land.

*sigh* Yeah, that would've been annoying. My mom got mad at me though, so i didn't get to watch it. I like several the best. I like Elves hobbits, and well, most of the men are ok.

Definitely the elves for me! Well I was rather disappointed with the movies as the elves were walking stereotypes but I suppose that's because the story doesn't focus on their cultures. Love the way they enjoy creating and refining, especially the way they're seemingly perfect and so aloof sometimes. Even after reading the Silmarillion, I'm still nuts over the elven culture. Hm, perhaps after the elves, it'd have to be 'men' as they're so unpredictable and like Cae said, "real". I can relate and under characters of the race of men better, coming from that race myself (hehe) but I can't say they're the best! Elves elves elves! *has a fetish for pointy ears*

I have to say, I like all races of Middle Earth, but hobbits have to be my favourite because they're so comfortable and fun loving, but are actually really tough when they need to be, which I think is great.

Well a favorite race, is that like Daytona..Oh silly me, of course not. Lotr time..hehe. My sense of humor gets the best of me at times, a goldie thing i think. Anyhoo, i'd have to say that men of Rohirrim and Gondor are as well as Elves. If you could put the two together, men and elves, they would all live forever. Gosh just imagine the many years together.

I really like the Rohirrim and the Holbytlan. The first, because they are just so... awesome. I was reading a passage in TTT about them when Aragorn was talking about them... and it was so amazing, their culture reminds me of those like the Vikings, or perhaps Nordic or Gaelic peoples. The horses, the way they live, it's just beautiful. And, being a person that hates where I live, Rohan would be a wonderful place to reside, being a born horse-crazy girl, and the eaves of Fangorn being right next door would be cool as well. As for the hobbits, I love how they live in holes, and they are so peaceful. I hate mushrooms, but... that's ok. The Shire, like Rohan, is just green as all-get-out, and I'd love to live in a place free from industry and other crap like that. And short people are just cute... hehe. As Morgoth though, I'd have to say the Uruks, as they are strong, or perhaps the balrogs, because flaming whips are just sweet... ehehe
Gili Edit: Mushies are rather gross. Unless it's Campells cream of mushroom soup... right out of the can, no water added.

I say elves for me. I love elves, and especially the Galadhrim. They, out of all the other elves, seem to be special. I mean, they live in trees. *g* Also, like Seles, after reading whatever it be from whichever book of Tolkien's, I still can't help but love Elven culture and Elves in general. Their swiftness, keen eyes/ears, light feet, and etc...Of course, all of the other races are special too, which is what sets everyone apart fro one another. The funny thing is that I actually feel like an Elf...I'm not all too fond of dwarves...but I'm starting to get used to them. *g* (that's for Aisil, the dwarfy of Plaza)

welcome to the Palace Arie! Indeed, all the races are unique in their own special way, which makes choosing a favourite rather hard. *g* But it comes down a lot to what we can relate to as well. Glad to see you are already involving yourself around the forum!
