'Where now the horse and rider?''Their horses were of great stature, strong and clean-limbed; their grey coats glistened, their long tails flowed in the wind, their manes were braided on their proud necks. The Men that rode them matched them well: tall and long-limbed; their hair, flaxen-pale, flowed under their light helms, and streamed in long braids behind them; their faces were stern and keen. In their hands were tall spears of ash, painted shields were slung at their backs, long swords were at their belts, their burnished shirts of mail hung down upon their knees. --TTT, "The Riders of Rohan' Indeed, Rohan, home to the Horse lords of the Mark. Here is the place to post you history of your horse/s. You can describe how you and your horse came to be together, the travels you have shared, and of course a description. Posts must be at least 5 lines of text long.

My steed is named Trumholdeoh. He has been my own for most of his life, and I have known him for his entire life. He belonged to my uncle, with whom I lived for most of my early childhood upon the Fields of Pelennor. It could be said that Trum and I grew up together, though I have a few more years to my credit than he.
When Trumholdeoh was a yearling, my uncle thought me capable of riding and caring for Trum. So, he bestowed the greatest gift that he could have upon me when I was about eight years old. The first few years of our fellowship were spent on the ground; I did not venture onto his back until he was four years old.
Trumholdeoh is of somewhat modest height (16 hands), but he is a very stoutly built steed, weighing nearly 1500 pounds. His bones are thick and his feet are sure. While he is not the fastest steed I have ever ridden, he is a magnificent destrier and I am privileged to ride him. His coloring is dappled grey with a dark grey mane, tail and forelock. He has dark grey points and a kind eye. His breeding is mixed, though I am sure of him being at least part draft horse because of his stature.
Apart from physical characteristics, Trumholdeoh is a loyal companion to me and I could not have a better friend. His youth (being only 6 years old) occasionally causes him to behave questionably, though in dire circumstances he is a very sensible horse.
Trumholdeoh is usually friendly, though his other personalities include just plain grumpy and impish--depending on the day *g*. He likes to be called 'Trum' or 'my love' and he loves carrots. His favorite activity, besides eating, is rolling in mud and dirt after a hard day's work.
