It's simple- do you think the hobbit should be made into a movie?

Oh man! I really wish PJ would direct it again, but I don't know it won't be all that simple to just wake up and say "hmm I think I'm going to make the Hobbit the movie" We'll just have to hope I guess.

I hope if it's made, I could be an extra or have a singing part. That would be so cool!

Well, last I heard, PJ has already secured the rights to produce the hobbit. And I think he expressed that he was going to do it after King Kong. Not too sure though, since I can't remember my sources, and that's a bad thing for sure.

We should all make audition tapes and send them in!

Seles, I heard that too on the radio. I hope he will, as I can't imagine anyone else making the film in a good way. I doubt they would use Ian Holm for Bilbo, though.

I really can't picture anyone else as Bilbo but Ian Holm. IT would be so sad if he didn't... and PJ had better make the hobbit. In the hands oif someone else, it could be deadly.

The Hobbit directed by Quentin Tarrintino...now there's an idea.

Giliathriel, The Hobbit in PJ's hands will still be deadly. I wouldn't be surprised if he cut out the trolls, Beorn, the spiders, Thranduils realm, The Arkenstone, Rac (the Raven)...oh it would be disasterous.

Yes, but we know PJ"s style, him having made 3 out of the 4. WE could pretty much know what to expect and know that he would do agood job, at least.

That's true, I mean he does make sure that he produces what he thinks is the best. It would be quite hard to keep everything in The Hobbit though, and people will expect it to be as good as lotr, won't they? It might be quite challenging from that perpective.

if its done... which hopefully it is eventually, then im sure who so ever makes it will try their hardest, but where do you think they'd film it? in New Zealand same as lotr??

That would be the best location I suppose, especially if PJ is doing it, for continuity and all. I don't know whether they would, if PJ didn't do it, but I think New Zealand will be a brilliant place to film.

As an actual member of a group type thing that is devoted to trying to get The Hobbit "filmatized," I don't think it would really matter who directed it. Granted, Pete did do a nice job with LotR, but who knows if he will actually do it after King Kong. I mean, if he really wanted to do it, wouldn't he want to ride on the waves of success from LotR, and make the Hobbit ASAP? I think he may never get around to it, but perhaps someone else from Newline will, since I believe they were the ones trying to procure the rights to produce the Hobbit as a movie. I hope whomever does it, does a great job. 1- It will help fill in the blanks that LotR movies didn't do that great of a job in 2- It might introduce even more people to the world of Tolkien, which is awesome from any perspective 3- it would most likely bring in large amounts of revenue for whatever company produces it, just as LotR did I can come up with more reasons if you aren't convinced yet.... I'm just not sure what I'm trying to convince ya'll of yet.
