When Faramir met Frodo and Sam he said to the Harad man that fell out" I wonder where he came from?" Shouldn't he know? They attack Gondor so of.Or was he trying to be more precise? And weren't those lines he said originally from Sam?

Well he didn't know exactly where he came from, as the south is a large area, so he could be wondering about what sort of place he lived in, what his life was like etc.

To be perfectly honest, I'm rather confused about what your original question was so excuse me if I misinterprete! It was probably a rhetoric question he uttered to amuse himself, I suppose, or it could mean a little more about where they came from - their home. The rangers were after all, searching up information about their foes and they required information about where these people came from, as it could come in handy later in the war. At the same time, it gave them an idea about what they're dealing with. Plenty of lines were transferred from one character to another, so having Faramir read Sam's line doesn't seem like a huge surprise to me.

I think when he says, "where did he come from" hes more refreing to his family, his life, and the way things were before he was caught up in the evilness of Sauron, maybe, who he was before it all
