Morket Office
Entering a cozy little building, you find it is comprised of a single room. In it stands a large desk, a nice mahogany color, with carvings that show the amount of care that it received in it's making. At the desk sits Mairuanna, a blonde-haired, blue-eyed Rohir that decided to be a Mordorian for a while. She spots you, and smiles, waiting to hear your ideas, request for a shop, or application for apprenticeship. Upon your telling her of which thing you'd like to do, she hands you a form to fill out and turn in.
Shop Application Name of owner: Name of Store: Goods to be sold: Need an apprentice?: y/n
Apprentice Application Name of applicant: Name of preferred store: (if any)

Poking around the Black Lands in the disguise of an elf, Gil made her way to the Morket Office. She had heard of a new market and wanted to get her shop in there. Shop Application Name of owner: Sauron (Gil) Name of Store: The Black Armoury and Forge Goods to be sold: armour, swords and other weaponry, all forged here Need an apprentice?: eventually
Filing out the form quickly, Gil sat it on the table then hug around to see if anyone else would come to visit.

Mairu jumps a bit when an elf enters the office, then hands her the form, which she fills out and gives her the application back. Glancing at the paper, she sees the name of the applicant, then raises her eyebrow. Sauron? Unless my eyes fool, you are plain-as-day an elf! But then, why are you applying for a shop that forges weapons in the Shadow Lands? Are not the forges in the elven realms better suited for quality weapons? Thoroughly confused, the woman put her hand on her forehead, then took a drink of brandy from a cup that sat on her desk. Putting her head up again, she read the application, then nodded her head. Well, whoever you are, you may set up shop as soon as you like. You'll find it rather quiet, which may be nice to escape the harsh moanings and groanings of the earth that frequently escape from the depths of the Mt... With a nod, she opened a drawer, pulling out a wooden board with a string attached. On one side, it read "Now open for customers", and on the other, "closed." Here, hang this in your window when you finish your preparations, and when you open in the morning. When you are gone, flip it over, so people will know. And that's about it! If you've got questions or anything of the sort, come right here, and I'll do my best to help. With that, the maiden leaned back in her chair and took another sip of her brandy.

Grinning with delight, Gil clapped her hands together. So, you like my little disguise? I am practicing in case I ever leave the Black Land and need to talk to lesser folk! She let her disguise fade a bit, altering the fair elven beauty into something dark and chillingly evil. Do you recognize me now?, Saurons voice asked her, with an evil grin. Concentrating, the elven features came back and Gil reached out for the board. I studied elven smithing for a while, and we enjoy working with metals. Not to mention, I don't like the feel of elvish weaponry! It is tainted with some unwholesome goodness. I can sense it! She frowned and turned to the door. I will indeed come back if I have any questions!

Upon seeing that it was indeed not an elf, but the Dark Lord Sauron himself, Mairu stood up and bowed. I see, your plan makes sense, most folk wouldn't look upon you, let alone talk to your evilness. And I know of that quality that elvish weapons seem to have as well. I don't mind it, but Lord Morgoth absolutely detests being in the presence of anything crafted by an elf. As the elf/dark lord turned to leave, she bowed again and nodded to him. Yes m'lord, please don't hesitate to return. With a sigh, the Rohir sank into her chair and closed her eyes, feeling rather weak at the moment. The sight of the elven likeness melting away to reveal Sauron's likeness was almost enough to cause her to faint, but she had held together, somehow, and she was mentally drained from it...

With one last glance at the rider, Gil morphed into the Dark Lord, hoping to see Mairu slide bonelessly to the floor, and walked to her new shop.

With a sigh, Mairu relaxed as the Dark Elf Evil thingy walked out of the door, but became uptight again when he turned around to reveal his terrible face again. With a sharp intake of breath she sat up in her chair and waited to breath until the dark presence was gone from the office. Glad to see that she was alone again, the former rohir drained the rest of her brandy, pouring herself another glass. Filing Sauron's shop application in a cabinet, she got a blank form and placed that where the other had been. Closing her eyes, she leaned back in her chair and took a nap...

Humming a merry tune, Xavier walked into the Morket office and sat himself on the edge of the desk, waiting for Mairu to awake from her alcoholic stupor...

Having completed her afternoon nap, Mairu woke up and was startled to see a handsome gentleman sitting on her desk. With a grin and a raised eyebrow, she greeted him. Hello, Xavier. What brings you here? Business, or just the longing to see my pretty face again? With a chuckle, the Rohir offered him some brandy, knowing quite well of his affinity for liquor. He was, after all, a bartender, and such as he was, could drink like a fish and still have a hankering for more... Have a nice nap sweetie? And I am actually kinda here on semi-official business. Uh... Grinning, the diminutive man tried to remember what he had actually come for. Oh yes! I'd like to set up a shop, madam... Now, if you'd give me the proper paperwork, I will fill it out and be on my way then. Nodding her head, Mairu slid the application form over to the manion sitting on her desk. And don't forget the standard fee of 10 gold, Xavier Grinning evilly, she looked him in the eye, then waited for him to fill out the paper. I don't recall any fee, but 'tis not like I've to worry about meh money now anyway... Returning the evil grin, he filled out the shop application. Shop Application Name of owner: Xavier Name of Store: Whiny Wino Goods to be sold: spirits, liquor, alcohol Need an apprentice?: no, for the time being Signing his name at the bottom, he slid the form and ten gold coins to the Rohir and remained sitting on her desk, waiting for her response. Well, looks like you're ready to go, here's your sign, put it in your window when you're ready for business, and turn it over at night, or when you aren't open... If you've got questions, I'd prefer if you left me alone, but if they are truly urgent, I s'pose you can come ask me... With a friendly smile, she gave him the sign, and waved goodbye... Thanks, Mairu... Well, I'll just have to find some urgent questions that need answered then, won't I? Grinning, he picked up the sign and walked out into the Morket, heading for the store he had picked out...

Watching the diminutive man leave, Mairu smiled, then remembered something. She opened a drawer and pulled out an announcement of sorts. It read " Attention! Anyone that is looking to open a shop, there are several that the Morket is in need of. First, a tailor or clothes-maker (for mending and sewing the royal cloaks of Sauron and Morgoth). Second, food sellers of any sort. Third, maker of defense objects of any type If you are interested in these shops, or have an idea for your own, please proceed and speak to the woman at the desk..." Mairu tacked the announcement at eye level on the doorframe of the Morket office, then went back inside and sat in her chair, waiting for another visitor to enter...

Still feeling a bit skittish from her visit with Sauron, it didn't help when she heard a voice float into the office on the wind. She recognized the voice, it belonged to Sauron. Ok ok She mumbled, figuring that whatever magic that had transported his message here would take her words back to the dark lord. She walked back outside and modified the paper a bit, so that it requested makers of defense objects now, instead of weapons...

Strolling jauntily, or, rather, not sneaking, Morgoth entered the Morket office. Hullo, Mairu dear. How are you doing today? How's things going, for the Morket? He asked, feeling like being cordial to his subserviant. In his hand, he held a small bottle of something, that could be heard sloshing a bit as he walked. With a grin, he placed the bottle on the woman's desk, and then waited to see what she said about this little gift of his...
