Coolio! I only speak english... I mean, that I'm (supposedly) fluent in.. Aisil, you have to learn it? Here at my school in the U.S we don't have to, it's actually for advanced students (in the 8th grade, who are above average in language skills). In the high school though, they only offer German, Spanish and French II (something about not enough students or funding...) Oh well, I love German,, es ist sehr gut!

yes, I have to...but it`s because I live in Holland, some German people learn Dutch to. I learn Dutch, English, German, French and Latin and Greek cause I`m doing Gymnasium. For the advanced people you can do French 2, German 2, spanish, latin, greece, Arabic (dunno why but you can learn that) and there were some more ;D

We learned about Gymnasium in German last year.. That's alot of languages to handle! I've been really questioning the quality of the American School systems.. Most schools only offer Spanish, if any language, and German is the other main language they teach, as far as I know. Grr... stinking schools!

Yes, but having so many languages isn`t super either . well, I do have the luck that when I`ll be going to universitie I`ll be going to one of the best in Europe. (I live in Groningen, The belonged to the top 10 of Europe)

That's awesome, Aisil! I'm thinking about trying to go to Culver for the rest of my high-schooling. It is a private high school with awesome courses, and a crapload of great stuff like a private airport for its students to learn to fly w/. (I've already gotten to fly an airplane, though I don't have a license...) And a lot of other stuff, but the thing is it's so stinkin' expensive, even though it's not a college... I'm gonna apply for a scholarship there, but chances are, I won't get it .. It would suck leaving my friends, but I mean, they give you a laptop computer when you go there, plus all of the other stuff... And I'd get away from my crappy family... Sigh...

Aw you guys are lucky, the only language I'm fluent in is english even though chinese is my mother tongue. Trust me, as much as they try to encourage it, the government campaigns aren't really working out that well. Chinese is pretty cool nonetheless, the whole culture thing but it's tough to study like all languages are. Plus, the teachers are snobs! Ooh but I understand dialects and some malay!

Haha well yeah! That's expectable especially since most of the european languages are pretty similar in their structure. After all, most of them shared a similar root... But you're right though, they are confusing! I mean, I'm just studying one other language but I remembered being really confused about the difference between chinese and english when I just started, which was around 6 or 7? Can't remember!

Haha grammatically they're different too and you're right, one's a pictorial language that started out like hieroglyphics (don't know if I spelled that right), the other started out with runes, I believe? All languages are pretty interesting though, there's always so much culture and wisdom hidden behind the words, I have no idea how the human race can possibly survive without languages! On second thought, we'd probably use clubs and a variant of the modern day morse-code. *nods*

I'm learning German in school, or i was supposed to learn it, but for me German is just a bunch of letters thrown in a blender and then thrown back on to the paper... i really don't get.. can only say some words...
