THAW – THE HOBBIT ARMOURY AND WEAPONRY
The Shire is not immune to war. All Shire folk need protection to defend themselves and their land form invaders. A sword or a spear could fend off nasty big folk and armoury to wear under your garments provides adequate protection. In the past, orders for such things had to be sent far outside The Shire to Imladris or Erebor, who were capable of forging such armoury and weaponry. Now there is no need to even leave The Shire!
A new building has just been opened in the centre of Bywater. The inquisitive hobbit residents have all gathered around the entrance to see what it was. They have been eagerly waiting this day to find out what the building will be used for since the beginning of construction. The many chimneys and the half a dozen sheds out the back had the hobbits guessing right up until the opening day. A piece of paper was stuck to the large round door at the front of the building. It reads:
The Hobbit Armoury and Weaponry. A convenience store for your entire defence item needs.
Another larger piece of paper was pinned to the door underneath this one. This one states:
THAW caters not only for your warfare needs but also your everyday requirements. We can forge anything from a long sword for battle to a knife for hunting coneys. The range of battle and decorative armour is exceptional.

WHILST HERE, PLESE REMEMBER
1. General Palace rules apply – no spamming, no one line posts, no excessive smilies etc.
2. This is a purely IC thread. OOC concerns should be dealt with via PM. The IC does not just apply to the order form, either. You must post actions around the order form – come in, introduce yourself and talk to us, role play yourself entering when you come and when your business is taken care of, leaving. Post with just a completed order form will be ignored or deleted.
3. It is very important to colour-code your posts – weapons are Red, armour is Blue and accessories are Orange.
4. No ridiculous special requests are accepted. While we try to forge most things suggested to us, we will not forge anything stupid like a bow with a blade attached to double as a sword, or a fork made from a Mumakil tusk.
5. No weapons, armoury or accessories will be forged from, or containing within, Mithril. It is permitted if prior permission is granted.
6. Do not continually ask when your order will be ready. This is spam and gets on the forgers nerves. An estimated date of completion will be given to you upon a forger accepting your order. If this date comes and goes and you still haven’t received your order, then you may ask when it will be ready. Just remember; the forgers a busy people and it takes time to perfect an order.
7. All races may fill in an order form.
Underneath these two papers is a third pinned to the door, with what seems to be very hurried handwriting. This one says:
FORGERS WANTED - Now Hiring.
Always making things? Work well with your hands? Then apply to be a forger!

DUTIES OF THE FORGERS
The Lead Forger has the ability to refuse requests and forge orders from any field. They are responsible for hiring employees, running THAW and updating the order list.
The Head Forgers are responsible for the majority of orders from their field. They handle all special requests and train the apprentice.
Apprentices study under the head forger of their respective field and learn how to forge from them. They are not permitted to handle any orders with special requests.
At the moment, because of the lack of Shire members, all races may become a forger at THAW. Applications may be posted in this thread – accompanied by appropriate IC role-playing as well. All post containing just application forms will be deleted and asked to be re-posted. The length of the forging post may vary. Obviously a long sword with engraving would require more characters than forging a quiver of arrows. However, forging post must contain at leat eight lines in the reply box. Be extremely detailed when forging to get the length. Need help meeting the requirements? PM me and I will send you a few pointers.
