I personally thought that the soundtrack for the Return of the King was brilliantly done. I thought we could discuss our favorite songs here. I thougt Twilight and Shadow was really cool because renee fleming's voice is so chilling... the white tree was really good too.

Ahh, I loved it because I don't have the movie itself so I listen and picture what is happening!

fun stuff! I think the part in THe White Tree, which really is the lighting of the beacons, is so chilling and exciting to listen to.

I just love the music for all of them, it gives the movie the atmosphere and the emotion, really heightens it. Howard Shore is a master!

Oh yes, such a contrast from John Williams. Willliams can evoke emotion, but Howard Shore really makes you feel the emotion deep down. Course, I cry at a lot of movies, so me saying that isn't much.

Do you listen to the soundtrack and actually see parts from the films in your mind, which is what I do? I feel that actually listening to the music and seeing the films in my mind is actually just as moving as watching the film itself. My favourite piece is The White Tree, where they are lighting the beacons, as I loved the Gondor theme right when it first appeared in FOTR at the council. I also really like Shelob's Lair as it is very different from the rest of the music.
